While Peter enjoys helping people, he finds helping those who are dealing with their first experience of losing a loved one, especially important. “Often it will leave a lasting impression and ongoing perception of how we manage and handle arrangements at a most difficult time. I like the satisfaction of doing this well, giving the families the confidence that we will put everything in place despite them often feeling emotionally distracted at the time”.
“I still remember the funeral of a nine year old boy in 1972. It was the first funeral I had led, and I had boys younger at the time. It impressed upon me how fragile lives can be, and the strong empathy I felt for this family still continues to reinforce my determination to serve well the families of our community.”
