Obituary

On Friday, November 14, 2025, died in Christchurch, surrounded by family. Dearly loved wife of the late David. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Anna and Matthew Garrett, and Matthew and Sarah McPhail. Beloved Nana of Milo, Felix, Lola, and Claudia. Many thanks to the staff at Arvida St Albans for their compassionate care of Anne. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cancer Society New Zealand would be appreciated and may be made online at cancer.org.nz. The funeral service for Anne will be held at Westpark, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Wednesday, November 19, at 10.00am, followed by private cremation.

I first met Anne when she joined the event management course which I was leading. She was an absolute delight & loved the learning even though she brought so much knowledge herself. My children then worked with her for several years at the Canty Show & loved her! One strong memory is how much David supported her, turning up to events, helping out as assistant. One particular memory is a Pooh stick race on the Avon River. I didn't get to say goodbye but whenever o saw Anne we had great chats & easy friendship. She will be missed.
