Small Circle is a relaxed, intimate farewell for up to 20 family members and close friends, creating time and space to remember someone special in your own way.
Gather around the casket, share stories and memories, then continue being together over a shared morning or afternoon tea. Simple, personal, and unhurried, it keeps the focus on the person you love and the people who matter most

The Classic Ceremony
Private or Public, Intimate or Large Gatherings
When someone has touched many lives, saying goodbye can bring family, friends, and community together.
The Classic Ceremony creates time and space for people to share stories, reflect on memories, and honour the life of someone important to them.
Led by a celebrant or clergy, the ceremony can include personal tributes, meaningful music, and photographs that help tell their story. Afterwards, family and friends can continue to reflect and remember over refreshments.
Hold the ceremony at one of our Lamb & Hayward venues, your place of worship, or somewhere else that holds special meaning. It can be followed by cremation or burial, or held as a memorial service.
As a guide, around $14,150
The family wish to have a service at our Westpark Chapel followed by refreshments in the William Lounge; they are expecting about 60 people to attend. There will be viewing at Westpark during the days prior to the service taking place. A celebrant will be engaged who will meet with the family to personalise the service. The family will also meet with the Graphics Team and with their input a photographic tribute and service sheets will be created. A light oak casket has been chosen for elegance. Following the cremation, the family intends to scatter the ashes at a special place. Included:

Your Way at Our Place
Ideal for up to 50 guests in a Private Gathering
A bespoke get-together, which is limited only by your imagination. It might be a high tea, coffee and cake, champagne and canapĂŠs, or gourmet sliders and beers. Not necessarily in the traditional style, this is an ideal way for a smaller group to respectfully celebrate the life of a loved one.
Making use of one of our contemporary sites, guests are welcomed with refreshments and then have an opportunity to mingle in a relaxed way before any formalities. There is always someone who wants to speak or maybe a few who wish to share memories. We finish with words of goodbye before the casket is carried to the hearse.

Recognising the value of gathering informally with close friends to honour her life, Lauraâs family wanted to do something a little different. A group of forty has been personally invited to share canapes and bubbles in the Torrence Lounge at our Rangiora venue, Wai-mana. During this time, Lauraâs white casket, covered with her favourite spring flowers, is available for guests to write messages on, photos showcasing her life are rolling, and her most recent playlist is on in the background. Guests mingle for some time and when it feels right the MC gathers guests together to share stories before offering final words of goodbye. Included:

Private Intimate or Large Gathering
When time together feels especially precious, A Wake offers the opportunity to gather the people who knew and loved someone who has died and share that time with one another.
It can be a gentle, uplifting occasion filled with familiar faces, favourite music, good food, and stories about the person being remembered. A chance to talk, laugh, reflect, and simply enjoy being together.
There’s no right way for it to feel. It can be quiet and intimate or filled with conversation and laughter. What matters is creating a gathering that feels comfortable and true to you and your loved ones.
