Obituary

On June 5, 2026, passed peacefully, surrounded by family, at Park Lane Retirement Village, aged 85 years. Dearly loved husband of Pat for 63 years, much loved father and father-in-law of Stephen and Julie, Sharon and Dave, Grant and Michelle, Craig and Lisa, treasured Poppa of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A loved brother, uncle and friend of many. Special thanks to all the staff at Park Lane for the amazing care given to Bruce. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be made online at cancer.org.nz. The service to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held at the Christchurch Golf Club, 45 Horseshoe Lake Road, Shirley, on Thursday, June 11, at 2.00pm, followed by a private cremation.

Dearest Aunty Pat, I'm thinking of you so much right now. Uncle Bruce was such a special person to all of us — his humour, his wit, the way he'd banter and tease and make everyone feel truly loved. He was a favourite of mine, and I have so many great memories of him. He will never be forgotten. Mum wanted to be there with you, her beautiful sister, but her health won't let her travel right now.
