Gail Margaret Sumner

Passed peacefully at home on Saturday May 31, 2025, aged 71 years. Much loved partner and soulmate for 47 years of Peter, dearly loved Mum and mother-in-law of Kerry and Chris, Ricky and Sharon, and Angela, and beloved Nan of Jayden, Ben, Megan, and Emma, sister and sister-in-law of Robyn and Dave, Susan, Desley, and the late Warren, and beloved of her dogs Whiskey, and Lucky. As a Charge Nurse Manager at Ward 11 ENT for 29 years, Gail was proud to serve the community of Christchurch, and she will be greatly missed. A memorial service to celebrate Gail’s life will be held in our Oaklands Chapel, corner of Halswell Junction and Wigram Roads, Halswell, on Friday, June 6, at 2.30pm. At the request of the family, bright colours are encouraged to be worn. Due to roadworks, there is no access to Wigram Road from Halswell Junction Road – access is from Dunbars Road only.
