Obituary

Passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, after a short illness, aged 85 years. Much loved sister of Margaret, and Eleanor, dearly loved aunt of Edward, William, Katrina, Jennifer, Nikki, and Andrew, and a loved great-aunty, cousin, Godmother, and friend to many around the world. Special thanks to all those who have provided care and support to Geraldine. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Geraldine Thorpe, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. A celebration of Geraldine’s life will be held at Oaklands, corner Halswell Junction and Wigram Roads, Halswell, on Friday, June 26, at 2.30pm.

We have only just learned about Geraldine as we live in the UK. We have very fond memories of her, and she was very much missed following her return to New Zealand. We send our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
