Obituary

On June 29, 2025, at Ngaio Marsh Village, aged 85 years. Dearly loved wife of the late John, loved mother and mother-in-law of Karyn and Alan Scott, Andrew Somerville, and Margot and Jan Klockmann, loved grandmother of Julia and Kurt, Michael, Holly, and Olivia, great-grandmother of Campbell, and Quinn, loved sister of Sharyn Pryde, and sister-in-law of Elspeth Sandys. A funeral service will held at Westpark, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Friday, July 4, at 10.00am, followed by a private burial.

I was so sorry to read of Gill's death in today's paper. I am remembering when I met her. it was soon after the family moved to Ranui Terrace, and I went over to see her. Margot would have been two or three at the time - is that right? I know she was in between my two girls in age - Joanna and Philippa. I think I went over to invite her to join our 'Coffee Group' which we were just starting. Then later on she and John were good members of our Neighbourhood Support Group with the other people from 'our end' of Ranui Terrace. Malcolm joins me in sending our condolences. We had a nice letter from Gill after we had acknowledged John's death and she sounded really good and 'up with the play'. You will miss her a lot.
