James Gordon Charles "Jim" Fairbairn

Passed away on November 2, 2026, after a short illness, aged 80 years.  Dearly loved husband of Sue, much loved father of Charles, Lucy, and Hamish, and beloved father-in-law of Sally, Tim, and Sophie.  Loved Pop Pop to Bella, and Lulu; and Charlie, and Rosa.  Special thanks to the staff at B5 Oncology and Merivale Retirement Village for the wonderful care and support given to Jim and family.  Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Jim Fairbairn, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Cholmondeley Children’s Centre would be appreciated and may be made online at cholmondeley.org.nz.  A private cremation will be held. A memorial service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at Riccarton House, Deans Bush, 16 Kahu Road, on November 14, from 4.00pm.
