It is with great sadness that we announce Marieâs passing, surrounded by her loved ones, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, aged 81 years. Much loved mother of Maxine, and Vicky, adored Nanny of Sophie, and Tim, and cherished Grandi of Theo, and Ollie. Beloved partner of Ian Millar, best friend and “sister” of Carol Twinn. Treasured by her UK family.

Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Marie Stewart, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. A celebration of Marie’s life will be held at Westpark, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Friday, June 19, at 2.00pm, followed by a private cremation.
Due to roadworks, Wairakei Road is one-way between Breens Road and Roydvale Avenue, making access to Westpark available to west bound traffic only. Please allow extra travel time.
