Obituary

Suddenly taken from us on Saturday, May 23, 2026, aged 63 years. Loved husband of Karren, treasured father of Matthew Abela (deceased), Sarah Abela, and Lisa Hooper. Loved Grandad Pete to his grandchildren, loved brother of Carmen. Workmate and friend to many. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Peter Abela, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. A service to celebrate Pete’s life will be held at Oaklands, corner Halswell Junction and Wigram Roads, Halswell, on Saturday, May 30, at 2.30pm, followed by a private cremation.
