Catering
The gathering after a funeral is an important part of the day. It’s a chance for family and friends to spend time together, share stories, and remember the person they’ve come to honour. The atmosphere is often more relaxed, with room for conversation, laughter, and reflection.
We take the catering for this part of the day just as seriously as every other aspect of the funeral.
Food at Our Venues
All three of our venues â Westpark in Burnside, Oaklands in Halswell, and Wai-mana in Rangiora â have spacious, well-equipped refreshment areas designed for gatherings after a service.Â
We provide catering in-house and coordinate everything so your family has one less thing to think about. Our standard catering includes:
â A selection of gourmet savouries
â Club sandwiches
â Fruit platters
â A range of cakes and slices
â A gluten-free selection
â Tea, coffee, and orange juice
We can adjust the menu to suit your preferences, dietary requirements, and guest numbers. If you have something specific in mind, let your funeral director know early so we can make the necessary arrangements.
At Another Venue
If the funeral or gathering afterwards is held at a church, community hall, private home, or another location, we can arrange catering there too. We work with local providers to coordinate delivery, setup, and service.
We also regularly collaborate with church groups and community organisations who provide their own catering. We’re happy to work alongside them and complement what’s already in place.
Something More Personal
For some families, the gathering after the funeral is an opportunity for something a little different: a favourite meal, food that reflects the person’s heritage or preferences, or simply the kind of spread they would have put on themselves. If you have something in mind, tell us, and we’ll see what we can do.
Itâs Your Choice
Our flexible funeral options allow you to create a farewell that reflects your loved oneâs unique character â in whatever way feels right for your family.
