On June 16, 2023, passed away peacefully at Christchurch Hospital, with family by his side, in his 94^th year. Dearly loved husband of the late May, much loved father and father-in-law of Joanne and David, Allan and Julie, Linda and Peter, loved grandad of Melissa (deceased), Ben and Miff; Cameron, and Megan, loved great-grandad of Hamish, and Ella. Loved brother of Eileen, Les (deceased), and Stella. Special thanks to all the staff at Ward 14, Christchurch Hospital, and Bainswood on Victoria,  for the wonderful care given to Russell. The Funeral Service for Russell will be held in the United Rugby Club, Allandale Road, Hawarden on Thursday, June 22 at 1.30pm, thereafter interment in the Waikari Cemetery.
