On 28 July, 2022, died unexpectly at home, in Northwood, Christchurch. Much loved and greatly missed wife of the late Terry, mother of Justine, Fraser, and Cameron, mother-in-law of Lisa, Adrienne, and Shaz. Beloved Nanny of Ben, James, Lachie, Liam, Shreya, and Anise. Val practised as a nurse and midwife in her homeland of Australia, then Auckland and Christchurch. A highly valued member of her community, including as a long-time volunteer at the Christchurch Transitional Cathedral and at Burwood Hospital. Always immaculately turned out, she loved gardening, reading, animals, history, and her family and wide circle of friends. A private family cremation will be held. In lieu of flowers, please raise a glass of nice wine in her memory.

Friends and colleagues of Val are invited to join the McLisky family at a Celebration at the Christchurch Transitional Cathedral, 234 Hereford St, on Monday 8 August from 2.30 – 3.30pm, followed by afternoon tea. This event will be livestreamed via the Cathedral website.
