I was so saddened to hear of Andrew's passing. While I had not seen him for many years he was a person who featured heavily in my time at school and I have fond memories of time spent with him via drama and school productions. I send my deepest sympathy and condolences to his family. I hope they take heart in the amazing legacy he has left. May he rest in eternal love and peace.

I first met an 18 year old Andrew, as our 8 year old son Alex, joined the Christchurch Boys Choir. Andrew was the conductor. We were involved with the choir for 5 happy years. Some years later, Andrew was conductor of NZSSC, when our daughter Rosanna joined the choir for two years, as a year 12 and 13 student. She was lucky enough to travel to Vancouver with Andrew and the choir during that time. Andrew has had a big musical influence on both of our children. Later, last year, Andrew and I caught up for lunch, and the very first thing that Andrew asked about, was what our children were doing, and how they were. I have just watched the live feed of Andrew's Celebration, and have learnt so much more about him. We are lucky to have known him, and to have been a small part of his wonderful contribution to the musical scene in New Zealand.

I am very sorry to hear of Andrews passing. I had the pleasure of teaching at Cobham Intermediate School when Andrew was employed as a classroom teacher and in later years a relieving teacher. I enjoyed meeting Andrew on a daily basis, as he was always gracious, sincere, full of laughter and kindness. Thank you for being one of those very special people. Ann Lane

I'm very sorry to learn of your passing, Andrew. I was one of many who learnt much from you at a number of conducting school classes I attended, and which I have been able to apply in my continuing activity of conducting community choirs. Thanks so much for your wisdom and your friendliness.
