Dear Rachael, Mark and Leah It is so hard to comprehend such a young life, but what a massive impact Callum had in his time with us. Leah has been such an amazing friend since primary school to Brooke. Brooke has spent many days at your house, probably baking up a storm with Leah, and in the company of Callum over the years. I know no words will help at this time, but our thoughts and love will always be with you. He was a very special young man. Lots of love Lisa, Wayne and Brooke XXX

Dear Mark, Rachel, Leah and family, David and I extend our deepest condolences to you all. We got to know Callum a bit during his time in Peterborough. He was a loveable sweetheart with a wicked sense of humour. We hope you will find strength in each other and in the support of loved ones near and far as you come to terms with this devastating loss. Mark, Rachel and Leah, Unfortunately I never had the chance to meet Callum in person but as soon as Leah said that he was a mini Mark and I heard all the stories and saw all the pictures I felt I’ve known him his whole life. I’ve shared all of this with my family. My friendship with Mark is something I refer to often and cherish, and it brings me closer to all of you. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and the extended Canadian and New Zealand families. Love to all, your friend Jay or as Nancy always referred to me as Jay Cee.

Callum, I remember you as a little boy—playing joyfully and sharing summer meals when Simon and I visited your family before you all moved to New Zealand. We are deeply shocked and heartbroken to learn that you’re gone. Your light lives on—in every memory, in every heart you touched.

Our hearts are breaking for Mark, Rachel, Leah, and all family and friends of precious Callum. We were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I wasn't lucky enough to have met Callum, but I have seen many pictures and heard lots of stories of how much love, pure joy, and laughter he brought to your lives since the day he was born. From your move to New Zealand, first day of Kindy, graduations, and special moments in Arthur's Pass, I've watched him grow up and feel like I got to be a witness to his beautiful life. We are sending lots of love and strength to you from all of us in Nova Scotia, Canada Tasha Tyrrell & family💕

Dear Mark, Rachel and Leah - No words can express our profound sorrow and grief over losing Callum. You were such wonderful parents and sister to that sweet boy, and he was such a light, attracting warmth and laughter, showing kindness and humour. Like the perfect blend of Mark and Rachel. We were happy we got to spend some time with Callum on our Christmas trip and that’s how we’ll remember him, surrounded by family in Christchurch with a President’s Choice baseball hat.

Dearest Cal,   As your Antler (Canada eh?) I am grateful for: Reading you books in bed and giving you good night tickles. Watching you become a loving older brother to your sister Leah. Seeing your excitement to building snow forts and experience tobogganing. Going hiking, riding, swimming, and eventually driving (your CAR) in NZ Teaching you the basics of driving “stick”. Your ability to navigate living with your grandparents peacefully. Arguing with you about Bell Canada as a communications service provider Walking with you in the woods with “swamp” dog – aka Brie Surviving Whitewater rafting with you on the Ottawa River. Sharing the love of pet rats with you. Being able to cook Lobster and go to the Casino with you on your 19th birthday. Hearing neighbours rave about your I.T. abilities. Creating outlines of documentaries including the one entitled “a call from Jim” – a clear blockbuster. Your support and insights during challenging family moments Drinking random unique beverages. Listening to you say “I don’t know bout that?” And famous quotes such as “that was stupid beyond imagination”. Crying with you, laughing with you, and hugging you.   I am sad now not to be able to experience you get older. Thank you for being the wonderful, amazing, sweet, thoughtful, kind young man you were. The world was better with you in it.  You’ve taken a piece of my heart with you but given me more than I can find the words to say. Love you kid.
