On December 4, 2025, Carla sadly passed away at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, after a courageous battle with cancer and 44 years lived to the full. Beloved daughter of Colin and Marivee; sister of Krystyne, Tom and Collette; cousin to Meurk’s, McMath’s & Penfold’s; special friend and mentor to many.

Sincere thanks to Tim, Viv, and the many close friends who rallied around Carla these past few years.

A celebration of Carla’s amazing life will be held in The Old Stone House, 30 Shalamar Drive, Cracroft, Christchurch, on January 29, at 2.30 pm, with a formal service followed by open contributions; then socialising with food and an audio-visual show. The next day we will tour Carla’s city connections – while a private cremation prepares her ashes to be taken, as she wished, on to Rakiura/Stewart Island – her spiritual home.
