The Railway Station at Little River late 1800's. Glynns Great great great Grandfather Sydney lobbied tirelessly for the Railway at Little River. Some Bureaucrats shut the rail eventually. Obviously it would have been an asset now reducing stress on the environment & providing a mass transit system to Akaroa! A wasted opportunity.

Glynn at cousin Susan & Hugh Thorpes Wedding celebration - at Little River with family Members - what a great time for all!! What could be better than deep family history from 1875 of an original Canterbury family who played a major role in building the City of Christchurch. Well done Sydney & Hannah Harris who supplied the timber for the families of Christchurch when the women said they wanted proper homes; not a tent city in a swamp. The Men were happy with Tent's but the Women stood Strong!! The Rest is History.

Glynns great, great, great, great Grandfather Sydney Buckland Harris - son of George who was the son of Godfrey who was the son of John, who had a Bakery at no.9 Beufort Place, Chepstow in Monmouthshire on the border with Wales. Chepstow is on the Wye River & historically the family lived near the river, fished & enjoyed their life there.
