It is with great sadness that Jan’s family announce her passing on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Arvida Ilam, aged 76 years.  Beloved wife and best friend of the late Paul.  Dearly loved, beautiful and amazing Mum to Katie, Brendon, Sam, and Tim.  Mother-in-law to Paul, Prue, and Briony.  Adored Granny Jan of Logan, and Jesse; Thea, and Jack; Bonnie, and Elroy; Jasper, and Primose.  Beautiful sister to Cath, and the late Margaret, Pat, and Tom.  Sister-in-law to Mary, Bryan, Trish, Sheelagh, Grant, Peter, Marlene, Tony and Anthea, and the late Gordon, Beth, Geof, and Brian.   Treasured Aunty and Great-Aunty to many nieces and nephews, to whom she shared so much of her time, love, and wisdom.  We will miss you dearly Mum and take comfort in knowing that you are now with Dad.  You both have given us everything in this world that we are able to share with the next generation.   We would like to thank all of the incredible staff at Arvida Ilam for the wonderful and dignified care of Mum for the past six years.  You are all forever etched in our hearts.  Messages may be addressed to:  The family of the late Jan McStay, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545.  A service to celebrate Jan’s life will be held at Westpark, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Saturday, June 6, at 10.00am.
