I regret not speaking at the service on behalf of Aunty Margaret's many nieces and nephews. While we were growing up in New Zealand, Margaret was exploring the world, pursuing her career, and more importantly, living her own life. She served in exotic and iconic places, and when she returned home, her casual and relaxed manner made her experiences and mementos all the more intriguing. She could be bold and flamboyant, but she was always Aunty Margaret. Thank you for being our Aunty Margaret.

Margaret and i met when starting work with Foreign Affairs and we kept in touch with our adventures overseas. She was always fun to be with and her passing is sad.
