Max Rosser was a truly outstanding headmaster and teacher. I am saddened to hear of Max passing and regret not having the opportunity to be able to tell that to him in person. Max was an individual who despite his relatively short stature could command a room of hundreds like no other. As one of his students I had a tremendous amount of respect for Max. That also comes from a student who was dispatched home for 3 weeks by Max for various indiscretions playing up one weekend. I recall later conversations with Max Rosser around some individuals (Students) who tended to live on the wrong side of the rule books. Although Max was the one who ultimately had to enforce those rules it was interesting to hear about the respect he had for a number of those individuals/characters who perhaps followed their own rule book... One of Max's strengths and part of his unique persona was how he saw through some of the indiscretions and appreciated the real character of all those under his charge. I would like to pass on my condolences to Max's family and friends.
