On Monday, September 8, 2025, Sue passed away peacefully at Lady Wigram, aged 78 years, just three weeks after the passing of her beloved husband Charles.

Treasured Mum and mother-in-law of Fiona and Sam, Mel and Dan, Kirstin and Sam. Adored Nana of Marlin, Eli, Ethan, Olivia, Theo, and Ava. Much-loved sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and cherished friend to many.

Sue was a gifted artist whose work was exhibited in galleries throughout New Zealand. After graduating in Fine Arts from Grays Art School at Aberdeen University, she began her career as a medical illustrator, combining her talent with science and precision. Deeply inspired by the Scottish landscapes of her childhood, she carried that beauty into her paintings and into the lives of those she taught and loved. She will be remembered for her joy in dancing, her passion for art, and her devotion to preserving family history.
