David Edward SICKLING
On May 29, 2026, in Christchurch, aged 75 years. A dedicated teacher and true gentleman devoted to a life of service whose kindness, humour and stories enriched the lives of his pupils, their parents and his colleagues at King’s School, Auckland, and The Cathedral Grammar School, Christchurch. David battled Parkinson’s Disease with brave dignity and passed away peacefully in his sleep. David was predeceased by his dear parents, George and Margaret (née Campbell), and leaves an extended family including Helen, Richard and Belinda Smith, Samantha and Ben Johnson, Ron Sickling, and Arthur Sickling. He is fondly remembered and his life joyfully celebrated by a host of friends, former colleagues and pupils. Sincere thanks to the dedicated staff of Anthony Wilding Retirement Village, Burwood Hospital, and Christchurch Hospital.
