On July 8, 2026, passed away peacefully with family by her side, at Lady Wigram Retirement Village, aged 88 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Jim, much loved mother and mother-in-law of John and Karen, Stephen (deceased), Sarah Sunckell-Brown (Brisbane),  Lucy and Stephen Read, (Brisbane) and Anna and Geoff Heslop, and adored Granny of Joseph, and Sian; Alexander, and Chelsea; Thomas, and Frances.

A service to celebrate Bettye’s life will be held at Oaklands, corner Halswell Junction and Wigram Roads, Halswell, on Tuesday July 14, at 10.00am, private cremation thereafter.
