Hello. My name is Brenda and I first met Greg over twenty years ago when my career as a camera operator was just beginning. From the very first time I met him, I knew that not only would I be learning new skills, but that I would also have a wonderful friend in my life. Greg always took the time to pass on his expertise to not only myself but many others over the years that he was in the industry. And it was always done in a way that was respectful, with patience and understanding, ultimately always wanting us to succeed. I feel so lucky to have worked alongside him. I thank you Greg for passing on so much knowledge and wisdom not only in work, but in life. I loved our correspondence over the years. You always had such a beautiful way with words. Every birthday wish and life update was always filled with so much kindness and love, and I will treasure that always. You were a great friend, an incredible human, and just an absolute gem. I will miss you very much.

Hello everyone. My name is Col Laker. Pam and I are so sorry not to be there to help celebrate Greg's exceptional life but we're definitely with you in spirit. Unfortunately, I don't have the wonderfully eloquent composition Greg had when communicating, but I will do my best. Michael, you were Greg's life, and you were so meant to be together. What an incredible team you made. Thank you for looking after him in his time of need. It gave us great comfort to know he had you with him. Our sincere condolences to you Michael, your family and many friends. We share your profound grief and promise to keep Greg alive with our wonderful memories and many stories we have of him. I had the absolute pleasure and privilege of spending a considerable amount of time with Greg over the nearly 50 years we knew each other. And what a time it was, the new and exciting time of television in New Zealand. Michael and Pam used to joke that Greg and I spent more time together at work than with them at home, and it was true. Countless days, weeks and years spent side by side in sun, wind, rain and snow covering every facet of television production. How lucky we were!! We knew each other so well, our every mood, when to offer advice, when to help, when to cuddle and when to stay away. I was in complete awe of his skill, his patience, creativity, demeanour and intelligence. I never saw any negative traits at all in all those many years. He carried himself with complete class and professionalism. I was so fortunate to have him by my side looking after me. Greg was so well loved and respected in our close television production group. Long after Greg retired, one of our esteemed directors, "Gavin Service," when giving his motivational camera brief would say "Who's on Camera 1? Do it like Greg." It said it all! Many of the current crop of Sky Camera Operators have all appreciated the countless hours of training, advice and the gentle way of teaching Greg brought to his training sessions. He will be greatly missed. If you want to live a life of love, joy and fulfilment, have friends who are loyal, trustworthy and steadfast, please "Do it like Greg." We will miss you forever, Greg and have been so fortunate to have had you in our lives for so long. You are one beautiful human being. Travel well, my friend. To the gentlest, most caring, genuine, talented man I have known. You have been there for me ever since I moved to Auckland when I was 16. Lots of fun times spent over the years, deep discussions and also just being. You were there for me during some difficult times in my life and a brilliant uncle to Malia and William. They loved spending time with both you and Michael particularly during their high school years. Your infectious smile will be sadly missed. Our condolences to Micheal, our hearts break knowing that you have lost the love of your life. Rest in peace cousin.
