On Sunday, August 9, 2026, Shirley passed away peacefully at Charles Upham Retirement Village, Rangiora, aged 87 years. Dearly loved wife of Robert Neville Hinman. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of John and Sally, Simon and Robbie, Janet, and Matthew and Jo-Ann. Loved grandmother of Ella, Nicola, Jeremy and Ollie, Benjamin and Sophie, Mitch and Larissa, Lauren and Ben, Bradley and Amelia, and Gabrielle, and a treasured great-grandmother to Oakley, Eddie, Griffin, Rooney, and Colter in America. Loved daughter of the late Stephen John (Jack) McKegney and Mavis Mary Elizabeth McKegney (née Smith). Loved sister of Dawn, John, Denis, and Wayne (all deceased). Loved aunt of Stephen, and Toni, Colleen, and Warren, Murray and the late Lynda, Kevin, and Daryl, and the late Joanne, their partners and her wider family.
