(VRD Retired Commander RNZNVR), (ex NZ Railways) On April 15, 2026, passed away peacefully at Charles Upham Retirement Village, Rangiora, in his 99th year. Dearly loved husband of the late Joan, and the late Tricia, loved father and father-in-law of Ruth and John Thompson, Claire Poysden, Mark and Jackie (London), loved Grandad of Paul, Kathryn, and Dave; Jeremy, Rob, and Carly; Emily, Thea, and Luke, loved Great-Grandad of his 16 lovely great-grandchildren. Brother of the late Hillary, and the late Fay. Loved stepfather of Laurie, Lynda, Julie, and Fran. At rest after a long serving and loving life.
