With broken hearts, the family wish to announce the passing of Red on February 14, 2023, after a lengthy illness, aged 55 years. Much loved fiancé of Kim, dearly loved son of Jan and the late Lester, much loved brother and brother-in-law of Rodger, Joanne and Chris, Deb and Mike, loved uncle of his nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Red’s Oncology Team, especially Dr. Andrew Butler and the staff at Ward B6 at Christchurch Hospital for their dedication, and to Nurse Maude who made it possible for Red to come home. In lieu of flowers, donations to Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand would be appreciated, and may be made online at leukaemia.org.nz. Red’s casket will be at home until Sunday evening, you are welcome to come and spend time with him should you wish. The celebration of Red’s life will be held in our Westpark Chapel, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, Christchurch,  on Monday, February 20, at 10.00am. After a private burial, you are warmly invited to join us at Hornby Rugby Football Club, 13 Chalmers Street, Hornby, Christchurch, from midday.
